zee_werp
Cool! Flowers are ome of the great bonuses of growing cacti. Is Turbinicarpus related to Ariocarpus at all? (The 'carpus' bit)...I have noticed that a lot of people who have Loph, Ario, Obregonia, etc. seem to have Turbini's as well.

occidentalis
Is Turbinicarpus related to Ariocarpus at all? (The 'carpus' bit)..'Carp' means 'fruit', the prefices 'ario' and 'turbini' are descriptors for the appearance of the fruit... I think 'turbini' actually comes from 'turban' because the fruit look like turbans (headwear). Don't know what 'ario' means.
