☽Ţ ҉ĥϋηϠ₡яღ☯ॐ€ðяئॐ♡Pϟiℓℴϟℴ
Hello I wonder if anybody has Acacia obtusifolia seeds they wouldn't mind kindly selling to me? ***.. since I got down to my last 11 before I even had a successful germination last year...[been at them for about 3 years maybe 4 now beginning with podalyriifolia <___base_url___>/uploads/emoticons/default_wub.png ]and it seems the seller I got them from depleted their stocks now.Back then i could only afford 20 seeds of each type i was getting ..and I am anxious to catch up when I get a chance and aiming to be ready and reloaded in prep' with substantial and maximised chances.Does anybody know if they benefit from/prefer a years storage like some super-longevity seeds do?-or any cool links where I can find out and study these fascinating creatures deeper?***-or trading for some Acacia simplex and confusa seeds if you're after any?-or anything else permitted to send to your country that I may be able to aquire..Oh yeah, Always on the hunt for Acacia phlebophylla seeds so shoot me a pm by all means on the off chance anybody has some they would like to sell too.-also seeking about 100 Acacia cyclops seeds too but possibly sorted 50 for now via a uk source..[just there's something more about real Oz born Wattles so would still grab some if possible.]So I'm on an Wattle spree at the moment and A' obtusifolia seems the only one I can't find this year on my hunts list....ideally I'd like to buy about 200 minimum - but any is better than none;so I would be grateful of any opportunities at sensible prices.-and if sensible enough would like to buy more with a view to sharing around the community and getting the plant cultivated to a point where seeds are in plentiful supply. Thanks for your time-thunderhorse

☽Ţ ҉ĥϋηϠ₡яღ☯ॐ€ðяئॐ♡Pϟiℓℴϟℴ
last time round (pre cactus era) it looked something like this:<___base_url___>/uploads_gallery/gallery/album_756/gallery_14443_756_537236.jpg<___base_url___>/uploads_gallery/gallery/album_756/gallery_14443_756_537761.jpgwhich eventually morphed into this lol and got named "Ixtlahuatl" [dry place/desert - in Nahuatl]<___base_url___>/uploads_gallery/gallery/album_756/gallery_14443_756_492255.jpgso the intention is to make another "ixtlahuatl" [dryish propogator tank] and possibly expand the cacti in it now ...<___base_url___>/uploads_gallery/gallery/album_756/gallery_14443_756_102167.jpgand more than likely name the other one "ixtla wattle" <___base_url___>/uploads/emoticons/default_tongue.pngthen the hunt for all their growth parameters to see which ones can be comboed together...will make a thread on how it goes too <___base_url___>/uploads/emoticons/default_cool.png -hopefully get some more fingers inclined to make it Acacia season n stuffs.and ~Dox2Cme if you happen to read this ; I'll finally be able to do that acacia germination pictorial i meant to do this spring but couldn't down to unforseenzs.

☽Ţ ҉ĥϋηϠ₡яღ☯ॐ€ðяئॐ♡Pϟiℓℴϟℴ
they were germinated in john innes seed compost/loamits reasonably sandy and drains welland I added miracle grow compost with woody bits in but got smashed by sciariad fly straight after..it took nematodes to slay them off in the acacias ,,,and mimosas (front pots)there's a bit of vermiculite sprunkled onnem too ..but for phlebs and obtusi's I'm hunting granite chippings about 3-6mmto mix with a bit of coir just to make sure there's no funny business from anything stupid like fungus gnats/beer flies/sciariadsbut I'm gna see if there's another more common and abundant acacia that shares their growing conditions w phleb n obtusithen do all the experimenting with that species ...soon as i hit success, I'll just keep the tek and swap the seeds <___base_url___>/uploads/emoticons/default_cool.pngI will probably develop a blend of granite, coir and finely sieved loam with a bit of charcoal dust mebbeh <___base_url___>/uploads/emoticons/default_smile.png..but reckon the loam will be sandwiched in the pot 'tween em.. Strontium Dawg
I'd go easy on the charcoal dust, they generally like acidic soil. pH 5 around my area where obtusifolia occur naturally, when they grow in soil at all. Some of them seem to just spring out of cracks in the solid sandstone.

Last thing ya want is it to be the last thing you see before getting zapped.I only say incase anyone overlooks that who reads n might not know the dangers. But im sure you already knew. baghdatis
Thanks for your reply mate, much appreciatedyour right cardboards not the best idea.waterproof heat pad, always a good idea. Ill have to play around with it a bit a find a good way to control humidity Think ill stick with using CFL's for now, i was trying to find a good LED alternative for you to use I'm thinking i just have to find out how much lumens a 33 watt CFL puts out and match that to an LED lamp that puts out the same amount of lumens right? (impossible task) I've seen a graph b4 somewhere but i couldn't find it to post a link sry.anyway thanks again
